Part of the Professional Teacher professional development series.

If you’re creating a flyer, brochure, poster, booklet, manual…etc., you are doing desktop publishing. The question is how to make it look professional, clean, and attractive. You need to use Adobe InDesign (not Word, not Publisher!).

InDesign is the “industry standard” for desktop publishing. The advanced features have a steep learning curve, but you can master the essentials pretty quickly, which is all you will need for nearly all projects.

We’ll explore and practice the basic tools for creating great-looking documents and publications, everything from document set-up to text to images to layouts to exporting.

IMPORTANT: To participate in this workshop, you will need to have access to Photoshop 2019 or higher during the workshop. (Every public school teacher and student in New Mexico can have free access to Adobe InDesign. See
